About the Group

Stone Soup is a regionally based ensemble founded in the mid-90s and centered in the greater Rochester, NY area.

It began as a duo, became a trio for quite a long time, and then a quartet for while, dropped back to a different kind duo, then became a different kind of trio, then a still different duo, and then a yet again different type of trio.

All of these changes represented a shifting palette instrumentally and to a fair extent a shifting spectrum of eclecticism in musical styles.  But a great breadth of musical interest among the members at any given time has always been a constant...insuring that signature journey through a variegated musical landscape.
